What LLMs cite when they pick a source

Editors still decide the page. Models decide who gets named. Here is how we brief both.

What LLMs cite when they pick a source

Agencies keep asking how to “get into ChatGPT”. The honest answer is boring. Models name sources that already look like sources: aged pages, real bylines, clear facts, and a publisher a journalist would recognise.

That is the same brief as white-hat PR. You do not game a model with a PBN. You earn a page an editor will keep up — then you make sure the client is the name on it.

What we brief for both

Resource pages, expert quotes, and original pieces written for that publication’s reader. The sentence has to belong. If the only reason the client is named is the anchor, the model will skip it the same way an editor would.

Editors still decide the page. Models decide who gets named. We brief both.

What to send us

  • The story the client wants to be known for
  • Existing unlinked mentions worth reclaiming
  • The DA band and niches you already sold
  • Whether the pack needs to mention GEO / AEO in the report

If you need an asset built to get cited — a study, a resource, a byline — say so in the brief. We will not bolt a chatbot onto a pitch deck and call it a strategy.
